Depends: Recovery depends on the size extent, location, type of heart attack and the treatments given at the time. Most people need 1 month of some type of rest and recovery then cardiac rehab for several weeks to months.

Depends: In fact, previous myocardial infarction, the medical term for heart attack, is one of the biggest risk factors for future myocardial infarction. Among patients who survive their first mi, 21% of men and 33% of women will experience another one within six years. We usually wait 6 months after a heart attack to clear a pt. For elective surgeries. Agree with other drs.
