Constipation: Constipation can be a sign of serious underlying problems. Secondary causes include certain systemic illnesses and drugs. It can be a manifestation of diabetes, hypothyroidism, high calcium levels, neurologic or obstructive disease such as tumor. There are new medications for this problem but first you need a good medical work up.
