Herpes and pregnant: Yes. It very well could. If your herpes is hsv type two you may very well be put on a medication to suppress your viral shedding of this and even may be offered a c-section to protect your child's journey through the birth canal.

Not likely: Hsv labialis, if due to hsv1, and its the first attack, it could spread in the bloodstream which makes the pregnancy high risk. If it is a recurrence, it is local and no problem! please realize when the baby is born, if you have any simptoms of recurrence, do not kiss the baby! until the lesion dries out. This is highly contagious for the baby and very risky! let your OB know.
