O.K. to give early: The 150 mg of medroxyprogesterone acetate (depot provera) has been shown to effectively prevent pregnancy, when given every 12 weeks with a 2 week grace period after the 12 weeks, where it will still be effective. Giving depotprovera 3 weeks before the 12 weeks end will not impact its effect on preventing pregnancy. The next dose will have to be given 12 weeks after the dose given early.

Probably safe, but..: There's no literature on the early administration of Depo Provera (medroxyprogesterone) for contraception, though it is used for other conditions. Your levels of MPA are falling throughout the 90 day period between injections, with a drop of 50%every 50 days. At 60-70 days if you get another injection you may increase your risk of side effects, but it would be effective at preventing pregnancy. IT WILL NOT PREVENT STD.
