A member asked:

Does a gleason score of 8 mean prognosis is very bad. so much info on internet is very scary and they all seem to give false inaccurate ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Needs treatment: The Gleason score (grade) assesses how aggressive the prostate cancer is. 8 is on the aggressive side meaning that it has a higher chance of spread outside of the prostate. You need to talk to your urologist about imaging studies to make sure no spread has occurred. Also this is a prostate cancer that needs treatment (cannot be observed). Talk to your doc about options
