Not very common: I have to say that patients do not often describe chest pain as prickly and going also to the back. What it is would depend on a further detailed history regarding when you have it, what brings it on, what makes it go away. How to treat it would depend on what it is. Sorry to be vague, but really the best thing is to see a doc who can take a complete history.
