My chest hurts when i move my left arm around. ive had this before and it was nothing but it hurts alot more this time?

Likely muscles: If you are having chest pain related to moving your arm around, it is most likely muscles or bones. Seeing an internist who can check you out is a good idea to confirm this; they can also take a more detailed history and make sure there is nothing more concerning going on like heart or lung disease.

Shoulder injury.: The muscles of the upper arm are joined with the muscles of the chest at a complex of muscles, tendons, and ligaments known as the rotator cuff (what we commonly call the 'shoulder'). You most likely have an injury of involving this structure and should see your doctor to determine if any further tests are needed. A mild rotator cuff strain will self-resolve with tylenol (acetaminophen) and gentle stretching.
