Should i take amoxicillin or keflex for an infected belly button piercing?

Infected Piercing: you should take what is prescribed for you for that particular infection. You should not have antibiotics left over from another infection or take another's prescription. This leads to wrong antibiotics or not enough to truly treat the infection. This all leads to antibiotic resistance of bacteria. Soon we will have no antibiotics to treat infections if these practices continue. See Doctor!

Skin structure: Both antibiotics are efficacious, but Cephalexin (Keflex) is more sensitive for skin structure than amoxil (amoxicillin) if comparing the 2. You should of course discuss with your Doctor who should be evaluating you and properly diagnosing you to Rx the best medication for you. Good luck.
