I finished amoxicillin and prednisone after laryngitis/ear infection diagnosis but have same symptoms now w/ rattling cough & little less ear pain?

Total Mess..: Viral laryngitis causes swelling of vocal cord and to be treated with steroid and antihistamine. If it is bacterial , it will be treated with antibiotic..amoxicilline and antihistamine. Steroid suppresses your immune system...if given in bacterial infection will make the antibiotic " less effective"....worsen the infection.

Get examined: Ear infection cannot be diagnosed without face to face exam, meanwhile try steam inhalation and OTC decongestant. Hope you feel better

Recheck with Dr.: A recheck with youir physician may reassure that the infection has improved and only the inflamation causing your cough & congestion remains. You may need to continue on antihistamines/decongestants &/or nasal sprays to decrease head cold symptoms/congestion.
