Cervical checking: is not helpful. I know its all over the internet now, but its complete and total nonsense. Politely I really recommend against it: it's difficult, sometimes impossible, to do reliably on yourself, and it doesn't tell you anything terribly useful. What are you trying to learn? I sincerely hope this helps, and good wishes to you.
