A member asked:

Are there any permanent risks in taking clonazepam at a .5mg dose several times a month for vertigo, over several months. periodically being the key?

Very little risk: If you are only taking it 3 times a month there is very little risk of adverse events. There is no real permanent risk to this type of use. The risk is in the short term. Klonopin (clonazepam) can impair memory and cause sedation which can result in falls or automobile accidents.

Unlikely: Taking clonazepam on an as needed basis should generally not lead to any permanent adverse effects. However, do stop taking the medication if you start to experience any allergic reaction (rash, hive, itching, swolling, trouble breathing)
