Pelvic pain: If you've had your period say about 2 weeks ago, and the pain is an ache or sharp off to one side than I would suggest that your pain is actually from ovulation. I was often able to tell which ovary was ovulating due to the pain. Other possibilities would have to do with your colon/rectum with is on the L side. Pelvic pain is difficult to determine the exact cause a majority of the time.

Pelvic pain: Pelvic pain is complex as there are several organs in the pelvis. The ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus, cervix, bladder, appendix, intestines, colon and rectum can all be the source. Pelvic pain requires and examination to help organize the evaluation.
