Maybe External Otiti: If your ear hurts when you manipulate your ear, it is probably external otitis--i.e., infection of the external ear canal, usually caused by a scratch while cleaning. If so, you may be able to treat it at home by instilling a 50:50 solution of alcohol and vinegar. The acetic acid in the vinegar kills the bacteria and the alcohol will keep the ear dry.
