Please suggest some important questions i can ask my doctor with regard to anorexia.

Can: Can you prescribe some meds to improve my appetite & relax my mind? Will you refer me to a psychiatrist?

Medications?: Medications? Recurrence rate? Genetics? How quickly can i expect treatment to work?

Ask: Ask for referrals to eating disorder specialist in the area. It makes all the difference.

Are: Are you going to tell me my weight when you weigh me or do I have the option of getting on the scale backwards.

Usual: Usual bmi range, treatment, prognosis, risks, benefits of treatment and alternatives.

What: What is my ideal body weight? Be at that weight or even a couple of pounds above it.

Ask: Ask your doctor to explain how medications and psychotherapy can really help. They can!

Ignore: What types of foods and supplements should I be eating that would help me get stronger?

Ignore: Ask for a TEAM approach as this is a very complex disorder. Psychiatry, nutrition, alternative med.
