A member asked:

Is a aortocaval node in/near the peritoneal ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Behind peritoneum: An aortocaval node is located between the largest artery in the body (aorta) and largest vein in the body (vena cava) which carry blood away from and to the heart from other areas of the body. This node is located in back of the peritoneal cavity, which contains the small intestines. Important to check with your doctor to make sure this node was not abnormally enlarged.
