Sprain, tendonitis?: Wrists - like ankles, knees, elbows, shoulders, hips - all joints are delicate and have many components. Healing from an injury can be very slow and rest/immobilization usually helps followed by careful, prescribed exercises to rebuild strength. Even nighttime movement can prevent healing. Do have an exam. Do consider a wholistic (diet/exercise) physical therapy consult. Be patient - take care!
