Severe reaction: People who have type A blood have antibodies against type B red blood cells. If transfused with type B red blood cells, they experience immediate severe reaction: fever, shivers, back pain, perhaps drop in blood pressure. The reaction is not subtle. If you wonder whether you've had such a reaction, you haven't had it.
