Irritating Lymphs: I think we turn to our mothers for the answer to this question: please do not pinch, poke, or otherwise irritate sores, lumps or bumps. But it is most likely not to turn a spot 'hard'. Lymph nodes that are swollen are usually fighting off or taking care of an infection or other something that is foreign to the body. If there is pain or fever you may need to be seen.
