I have vertical black lines in my toenails and i see them a lot after i play basketball. i don't know if people are stepping on my toes or what?

Bruising: These lines usually are caused due to traumatized nail beds causing internal bleeding in the nails. It can also come from improperly fitting shoes and taking anticoagulants, like aspirin.
