I was told today i am 80-90% effaced and 2.5cm dilated ...this is my second child....will i go into labor soon?

Yes: Sounds like you are well on your way. Good Luck and dont waste time when you do go into labor. Those second babies come a lot faster. Congrats and Good Luck!

Maybe: A lot of women can hang out at 3-4 cm for days or even a couple weeks especially if its not your first baby. Its good you know your exam though, so that if you do go in for a labor check the nurse has a baseline exam. Don't forget to call you OB if at all possible if you think you are in labor. Winter weather can be hazardous to your OB and he/she may need more time for the drive in.
