Depo provera (medroxyprogesterone)?: U don't say what the injection was but I'm guessing it was the contraceptive Depo provera ( medroxyprogesterone acetate) which causes periods to stop.In most cases there is irregular bleeding at first but in some cases it causes periods to stop right off.The drug lasts for 3months and even after only one shot it can take several months to return to regular ovulation.Beware, u can conceive before
