White spots: One of the first signs of weakening of enamel occurs a white spot lesions as in the post picture. This is sign of enamel demineralization usually related to poor brushing habits, frequent snacking and drinking acidic, sugary drinks such as soda. Eventually the enamel breaks down and you then see cavitations or holes which is a cavity.

Tooth erosion: The acid in the foods we eat and drink can cause tooth enamel to wear away and teeth can become sensitive and discolored. The signs of tooth erosion are: sensitivity, discoloration and roughness may appear at the edges of teeth. See your dentist for evaluation and prophylactic treatment.
