Dry eyes: not sure what a cut tear duct would feel like, but sounds like your having sharp pain, and foreign body sensation which are hallmarks of dry eyes. I would use artificial tears 3-4 times a day and go see an ophthalmologist. There are other things that can cause those symptoms which can be more dangerous.
