Prevacid (lansoprazole): Prevacid (lansoprazole) is a proton pump inhibitor, which are among the safest class of medications we use. There are rare associations with low magnesium levels and with a kidney disorder known as interstitial nephritis, but otherwise are relatively safe. There are possible associations with some types of pneumonia. There are no proven heart or liver side effects. Good luck.
