Spotting with PCOS: Spotting that is brown in color is usually due to old blood that has been in the uterus or vagina for a while. With PCOS, menstrual irregularity is very common. Occasional episodes of spotting are not unusual and usually not a reason for concern. If the spotting continues for more than 2 weeks, you might consider consulting a physician.
