Uncommon: Sudden cardiac death is uncommon in 24 year olds. The most common causes of cardiac death in young people would be a congenital abnormality of the heart or hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Both of these could be diagnosed with an echocardiogram, an ultrasound of the heart.
