A member asked:

What are the pimples below/around my mouth? they're not like cold sores, but they don't respond to benzoyl peroxide and they crust over after pussing.

Acne vs Impetigo: Hard to say without a photo for diagnostic purposes. Women do get peri oral dermatitis, an acne which affects the mouth area. But your description of the crusting sounds a lot like impetigo, commonly caused by staph. We could make a better determination with photos and deeper history during a prime visit! Treatment is different 4 each condition!

See Dentist or MD: There are several things that come to mind - none of them serious but the only way to be certain is to have your the places checked. There might be something that can be prescribed to help with the problem. They could also indicate another problem that might need attention.

See dermatologist: Probable acne, but exam may reveal other diagnosis such as perioral dermatitis, folliculitis, impetigo, contact dermatitis, etc. Most likely success with oral spironolactone.
