I have discovered a bruise on my right hip (~2" long), don't know how it got there. now it's turned into an itchy rash. please help.

Get checked: Though one can bruise yourself from scratching, normally the itch comes first. Rarely but possible I have seen severe hives resolve leaving a bruise, thought due to an autoimmune phenomenom. Perhaps it's not quite a bruise. Early shingles? UP? DH? Recommend be examined and get it checked out.
