Unlikely: In order for any possible transmission to occur a good deal of blood on that toothbrush would have to come in contact with OPEN sores in your son's mouth... An unlikely scenario! Hope this helps Dr Z

Probably not : Inconclusive hep C means the test is not surely positive which suggests that the viral load , if any, is low. This makes transmission risk low. Also, the transmission risk via tooth brush is low. Therefore, the risk overall seems to be very low. If there is blood on the brush or if the son used it vigorously brushing, the risk may be higher. Best is to follow on the nephew status, but risk is low!
