Weaning Prozac (fluoxetine): I understand your concern for 11 year old boy. He should be evaluated by a Child psychiatrist for assessment of degree of depression at this time, his functioning at school, and at home Prozac (fluoxetine) should be weaned under the direction of treating Child psychiatrist. It is possible to wean off Prozac (fluoxetine) if mood is stable, functioning has improved, ha good support, and family is involved in treatment.
