Average: Congratulations on quitting. You are likely back to the rest of the population's level of risk after a time for healing of the irritated tissues and their return to normal. Any tissue loss around the roots of the teeth should be evaluated and treated as needed by a Periodontist (gum tissue specialist) . Good luck.

Great Job!: People who stop using tobacco, even after many years of use, can greatly reduce their risk of all smoking related illnesses, including mouth cancer. Just remember tobacco and alcohol are the most important mouth and oropharyngeal cancer risk factors. Good luck.
