OK on empty stomach: According to online information from the U.S. FDA (http://www.fda.gov/downloads/Drugs/DrugSafety/ucm088999.pdf), fluoxetine (Prozac) may be taken with or without food. Some people have reported anecdotally that GI side effects, if present, may be reduced by having some food before taking this medication.
