A member asked:

I underwent varicocelectomy 4 months ago, my sperm viability went down from 70% to 50%, with no changes in count, why is that?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Varicocelectomy: A change from 70 to 50% is not significant and may represent normal variation, or may be from having any kind of surgery. It can take up to 6 month for sperm function to respond to a varicocele ligation. In about 50% of cases, there is no change.
