A member asked:

I had a gyno exam and was diagnosed with chronic vaginitis and given treatment for me and my partner. does this mean it's an std? should i be worried?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possibly STD: You should ask your doc who treated you. But the fact that you and your partner were both given treatment seems to point towards an STD. The three most common causes of Vaginitis are Bacterial Vaginosis, Canadidsis, and Trichomoniasis. All of them require antibiotics but when treating STD, you usually treat patient and partner. You should be worried this reoccurs. I advise protection (condom)
