Positive "HPT": Home pregnancy tests are much more sensitive now, and can register positive soon after implantation of a fertilized egg which happens 7 days after fertilization. Four days later can therefore be a "positive". Another possibility is that your "period" on 12/28 was bleeding but not a real "period", and you were pregnant before you did the test. See your provider for an ultrasound exam.
