It depneds: Tumors can arise in the brain or can spread to brain from outside Cancers (like Lung Cancer can spread to brain). These can also be benign like a Pituitary Adenoma. When cancerous, the primary brain tumors are called Gliomas. One of the common ones is called Glioblastoma multiforme(GBM)

Additional comments: We do not know why primary tumors of brain occur, but many are quite benign, such as meningiomas. Secondary cancerous tumors d0 occur associated with lung, breast, skin, GI, and kidney cancers.
