What is anesthesiology?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Medical speciality: that deals with all aspects of care for a patient undergoing surgical, diagnostic or therapeutic procedure in order to provide maximum safety and minimal discomfort during and after it. Can be loosely translated from Greek as "science of senselessness", if you will. in the U.S., anesthesiologist is a specially trained physician(MD or DO) and anesthetist designates a skilled trained nurse.
