No hard statistics: I don't know of any hard data on malnutrition in the U.S., because it's largely thought to be a problem limited to developing nations, and U.S. data tends toward OVERnourishment & obesity. However, UNDERnourishment due to FOOD INSECURITY is a real problem in the U.S. According to USDA: in 2013 only 62% eligible for food stamps actually got it, and 1% of households had kids that went without food.
