Depends on origin: Liver cancer in actuality represents a primary hepatoma of the liver. Such lesions are not staged but rather considered resectable or unresectable. Metastatic liver cancer noted as Stage IV disease has different prognostic features, depending on origin resectablility or response to intra arterial chemo via chemoembolization or isotope infusion or microwave ablation of the solitary lesion.
