Lipoproteins: Such as LDL, HDL, VLDL, and others. The lipoproteins have apolipoproteins on them which serve to direct the chol to specific places. We think of LDL as "cholesterol" but it is actually Low Density Lipoprotein. The purpose of lipoproteins is to "dissolve" the hydrophobic cholesterol particles in blood, and transport the cholesterol to where it needs to go. Hope this helps. CardioGauge.com
