Toe pain: There can be many different reasons for foot pain. From arthritis, stress fractures, general foot fatigue, stress fractures and countless more. Even the time of day the pain comes can help determine why you are having pain. You can ask your pcp for a podiatry referral if the pain continues to worsen. Of course practice price therapy as well and stretch before and after runs.

Toe pain: Depending on the toe, splints can be beneficial, especially at night. Certain taping or strapping techniques can be helpful as well for the lesser toes. Injections are extremely helpful for conditions such as capsulitis or osteoarthritis.

What can I do to reduce toe pain quickly?

Dr. Ronald Obermananswered

Depends on the cause: Proper fitting supportive shoes are obviously helpful. Make sure toenails are cut correctly: straight across and not down sides. Ice and /or heat may help. If this problem does not resolve quickly, see a podiatrist. There are numerous possible causes including infection. This would need to be checked out.
