If by illegal: you mean "bootleg" drugs manufactured illegally (e.g., methamphetamine), the difference is a prescription drug is made under govt regulation to insure purity and quality. Illegal drugs have no quality control, may contain toxins, are probably of poor quality and purity, and may not be the drug claimed by the dealer. Using them is a roll of the dice with your life.
