None: You need to see a physician as soon as possible to rule out any other causes and maximize resolution.

No recommendations: The benefits of home therapy are unknown. There are some reports of outpatient physical therapy being of some benefit. The mainstay of treatment is using Prednisone and acyclovir(there are some diffferent opinions re the latter) as soon as the symptoms start. Thanks!

Supportive care: After you have seen your doc and excluded other diagnoses, treatment is supportive.Rest, good nutrition and time will see resolution in most. For some with eyelid involvement, artificial tears are needed to moisten the eyes.

A few directions: Biggest issue is potential of corneal abrasion, so patch the ipsilateral eye until the blink reflex has returned to normal. Liquid tears will help ease any discomfort. Although some docs use steroids and antivirals, might add some thiamine 100 mg daily. Should fully resolve in a few weeks. Prognosis for normal outcome about 92%.
