Perhaps.: Most common reason for high WBC is reactive, reflecting inflammation or infection. Medications (lithium, prednisone, others) can do this. Endocrine disease can do this. However, persistently high WBC over a long period without explanation may be a blood disorder. Myeloproliferative disorders are blood diseases where excess blood cells are made w/o other cause. Ask your doctor about this.
