Yes: Sugary drinks have extra unnecessary calories so stopping consumption of soda can make a big difference in weight loss. This also includes fruit juices, etc. Better to eat whole fruit rather than drink it, if possible. If you like bubbly taste of soda, consider getting a device which can carbonate your water, then squeeze in a slice of citrus fruit for flavoring. Diet sodas aren't helpful either.
