A member asked:

Took a puff from a cigarette, which belonged to someone i didnt know. can i get a disease? and do i need to get a check up?

Two big risks!: First of all, be mindful that you CAN catch a disease when secretions are exchanged - even a cold or the flu! But the other issue - I can't help it, I'm a doctor! - is the smoking. Heart disease, lung cancer, and MANY other major health concerns are impacted by smoking. If you need help quitting, talk to your doctor; read Alan Carr's book on Quitting Smoking - do it now!
