Been having pains in my left kidney over a week. saw a dr. and was told it was a kidney stone. have been hydrating the stone has still not passed. ?

Kidney stone pain: Most small kidney stones pass spontaneously, those larger than 5 - 6mm may not. Pain is related to obstruction. Such stones best managed by urologist. Drinks lots of water, Dr may prescribe Tamsulosin to facilitate passage. However, persistent high grade pain, if present, needs to be relieved. Good Luck

Here are some…: Any new stone attack comes with its own features in term of the size, shape, density & location of the new passing stone. Clinically, how to manage stone passage should be based on the above in conjunction with current clinical picture & prior history of stone passage. Although you're waiting for possible stone passage, you should seek professional attention immediately whenever feeling chill...
