As much as you need: Why do you think you need iron? Iron deficiency is diagnosed by checking iron levels, as well as ferritin levels. If your iron is low due to a chronic infection, increasing iron is only going to make the infection worse. See your doctor.

Would watch iron: Unless you have been diagnosed with iron deficiency, i would be very careful with iron. Iron can accumulate in vital organs like the heart and lungs and cause major problems.
