On or in ?: The color of stool, from green through yellows and browns is unimportant. If the blood is bright red, it comes from near the outlet and usually represents a scratch in the outlet. Bulky or hard stools often cause this. If it is darker red or purple and mixed within the stool it may represent an infectious process. Check with his doc.
