Cancer is unlikely: Depending on your physical activities before the pain started, you may be simply having sore muscles. If your pain is intermittent but frequent, you may have muscle inflammation (myositis) or a connective tissue (autoimmune) disorder or fibromyalgia. Cancer does not present with overall pain.
